Mauritshuis

For paintings by great masters you should definitely visit the Mauritshuis. In this museum where Count Johan Maurits of Nassau Siegen once lived, you will now find a unique collection of paintings. The Royal Cabinet of Paintings: The Mauritshuis is a Rijksmuseum in the center of The Hague. The museum contains paintings from the Golden Age (17th century) and several from the 18th century. Panorama Mesdag

The Mesdag Collection consists of the home – and studio – of the Mesdag couple and the museum, an intimate building with an exclusive atmosphere.

The former home of Hendrik Willem Mesdag (1831-1915), the famous sea painter and his wife, is located on the Laan van Meerdervoort. In addition to being a painter, he was a great art collector.

Mesdag had a museum built for his exceptional collection, which contains numerous masterpieces from the French Barbizon School and the Hague School of the 19th century. He built this museum right next to his house and opened it to art lovers. More on http://panorama-mesdag.com

Haags Historisch Museum

With a view of the most famous pond in the Netherlands, the Hofvijver, you can see the development of the city on a digital growth map in the Hague Historical Museum. Cityscapes from different eras show life in the past. Here it becomes clear that the city has a long history as a political and administrative center of the Netherlands.

In the building where the shooters of the Saint Sebastian Guild once met, you will now find treasures from the city’s history. Special paintings and admirable objects tell the story of The Hague.

Port for overnight stay

WSV de Vlietstreek is located in the Binckhorsthaven in The Hague. From the Rijn-Schie kanaal it is only a few hundred meters to the entrance of the Binckhorsthaven. All facilities are available at the port and there is a good public transport connection to the center of The Hague and The Hague Central Station.

Passers-by are always welcome, you can choose a berth with a green sign.
