Katwijk aan Zee

Hollandse Duinen National Park comprises more than 60 km² of Natura 2000 areas, including the dune areas Berkheide (south of Katwijk) and the Coepelduynen (north of Katwijk) near Katwijk. The area has an enormous biodiversity, is important for coastal defence and plays a role in the drinking water supply! Hollandse Duinen National Park comprises the entire area between Hoek van Holland and Hillegom. The landscape is unique, because it was created over 5,000 years ago by the rise in sea level.

The Katwijks Museum is located in the centre of Katwijk and approximately 200 metres from the beach. The museum displays a special collection of paintings by famous Dutch and foreign painters who were attracted by the large artists’ colony that Katwijk was at the time around 1900. In Katwijk it is cozy from early morning till late at night. Start the day with a delicious breakfast, enjoy an extensive lunch, and have a nice dinner or drinks with a view of the sea! Or get delicious fish at the fish stall opposite the lighthouse.

Marina Katwijk is located approximately 950 meters from the beach. It is less than a 10-minute walk to the lively center of Katwijk aan Zee with a variety of shops and restaurants. Supermarkets can be found within a radius of approximately 500 meters. It is not necessary to reserve a berth in this marina.
