Rotterdam is bursting with innovative architecture, art, culture and design, but also has a large and varied range of shops, attractions, festivals, restaurants and parks. Rotterdam is a city that you can discover over and over.
Rotterdam offers museums with very diverse collections and exhibitions: from modern art to historical finds, from architecture to photography and from historic ships to exotic animals. There are also numerous interesting galleries at several locations in the city. The area around the Museum Park, in the heart of the city, is particularly numerous in museums. In addition, an attractive route runs from the Museum Park to the Leuvehaven via, among other things, the pleasant Witte de Withstraat.

The destruction of Rotterdam’s city center in 1940 resulted in the patchwork of architectural styles that you can discover today. Here, icons of Nieuwe Bouwen (Huis Sonneveld, Van Nelle Fabriek) and typical reconstruction architecture (Het Industriegebouw, Rotterdamsche Bank) shine alongside ultra-modern residential towers (De Rotterdam, Zalmhaventoren and The CoolTower).
It is precisely that variety that tells the story of the city. The city where, during a walk through the city center, you will also find monuments such as het Stadhuis, the Laurenskerk and the Schielandshuis: the relics of the former Rotterdam. And Europe’s first skyscraper – the 45-meter-high White House from 1898 – also survived the bombing. More info on https://rotterdam.info/architectuur/
The 800 meter long Erasmus Bridge is the connection between the northern and southern parts of Rotterdam. The suspension bridge over the Maas has a 139 meter high steel pylon, which is mounted with 40 cables. The shape of the pylon gave the bridge the nickname The Swan. The Erasmusbrug is the icon of the city of Rotterdam.
If you enjoy mooring near historic ships, the Veerhaven and Delfshaven are recommended.
The Veerhaven is located in the Scheepvaartkwartier, where stately mansions on classic avenues revive Rotterdam’s rich shipping history. You will find various restaurants and terraces around the Veerhaven, such as Loos and Zinc.
In Delfshaven there is a wide choice of galleries and eateries and it is wonderful to wander along the water. Cultural facilities are of urban importance on Coolhaveneiland and there is plenty of creative activity.
Another option is City Marina Rotterdam. Not a historic port, but uniquely located on the prestigious Kop van Zuid, close to the ‘Erasmusbrug, the ‘Willemsbrug, Hotel New York and the new Luxor theater. Metro, train, bus and tram connections are within walking distance and take you to museums, theaters, shops and entertainment venues.
We are located in Woubrugge, in the middle of the largest water-rich area in the Netherlands. An ideal starting point to visit our historic cities, beautiful lakes and nature reserves from the water.
