Boat trip Weesp
Fortified town on the Vecht

Weesp is one of the fourteen fortified towns in the Netherlands. Weesp was part of the Dutch Waterline and the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Weesp boasts two tower forts: Fort Ossenmarkt and Fort Uitermeer. In the fourteenth century, the first beer breweries and later gin distilleries brought about great periods of prosperity and growth. The beautiful town hall, built by Husly, and the Grote or Laurenskerk (Great or St. Laurens Church) with its playful Hemony carillon attest to this prosperity. More on: www.visitgooivecht.nl
