People often think that a license is required to rent a yacht. However, this is not the case. Our motor cruisers are practical vessels that are easy to handle. The length of our ships have a maximum of 15 meters long, so that a license is never required.
When you arrive we expect you to be prepared for your boating holiday and that you are informed about navigation rules. On http://varendoejesamen.nl/en you can read what it takes to cruise the waters in the Netherlands. Here you can find, read and download the documents mentioned below to prepare a careless boating holiday.
Before sail the instructors will tell you all about the ship you haven rented. In a short practical lesson/course you will be taught what to do in practice. You will practice mooring, maneuvering etc. yourself.
Passengers: Especially if you have no experience, it is important that passengers on board are also involved in the explanation. Particularly in the construction and map reading. Also, in emergency cases, a passenger should be able to take over the steering wheel.
Like a car, a yacht must also be checked regularly. Before departure you will carry out these checks together with the intructor. During your cruise, you must do these things yourself. Below you can read a number of issues discussed and practiced before departure.
WARNING! If the weather does not permit, it may be that the explanation and lesson will be postponed to a more convenient time.
